In the movie Insiang, although it seemed that at the start of the movie when her relatives were staying with them, she was seen as one of those who brought home money. In fact, at the start of the movie, she is seen to have a crucial role as she earned money while her cousin who was a man did not. However, as the story progressed, it was seen that Insiang was merely seen as a sexual object. When Dado had seen her, the way he looked at her had already suggested that she is being seen as this. Furthermore, her boyfriend had also seen her that way. It was as if he was easily able to talk about her as if she was merely something he could throw away easily if he didn’t get what he wanted. In a certain scene, Insiang was unable to meet him for their date to the movies.
