All groups have submitted their final paper outputs!

2nd Term (AY 2019-20) Grading System

A. Activities that were conducted before the declaration of ECQ (before March 9, 2020) and were not credited towards the midterm grade, will now be credited as EXTRA POINTS to be used in either manner:

* Extra points to be credited to the Final grade of those who did not miss any activity or quiz before the ECQ;
* Extra points to be credited to the Midterm grade of those who have missing activities or requiring extra work before the ECQ.

This is is to ensure that everyone can have a chance to avoid failing the midterm period, which will now comprise 60% of the Final grade.

B. The Final Period will now be made up of the following course requirements:

* LCFAITH: 2nd Reflection + Faith of the Inarticulate + Faith Engagement Portfolio or Transformative Faith

* GEETHIC: Ethics of Care + Final Research Paper (including PPT )

C. Computation of Final Grade:

Midterm Grade:       60%
Final Period Grade: 40%

Final Grade               100%
D. To reiterate, submissions on or before May 9, 2020 will not incur deductions in points.

E. Notice of Grades will be posted on cafepublicintellectual.wordpress.com before May 15, 2020.

My Religions Article on Religion and Climate Change

My dear students,

I am very pleased to inform you that my article on the Virgin of the Vulnerable Lake: Catholic Engagement in the Philippines has just been published in the top journal, Religions.  In this article, I argue that, in the case of the Virgen de Caysasay, the vulnerabilities of the community—of the bodies of water and of sacred spaces by virtue of them being assigned as such due to religious practices—reveal the dissonance between what the local Catholic Church imparts and communicates through its CBCP pastoral letters on the environment to the faithful community and the realities on the ground.
